“Lisa Feltner has earned my vote this Tuesday for District B Town Councilor. I worked on Arsenal St. development issues with Lisa in her role as President of the Concerned Citizens Group (CCG). I have watched her bring people together as she had many, many conversations with her CCG constituents and other residents, with developers, and with town officials. She listened to people in District B and brought together a group of architectural professionals to advise about the developments proposed for western Arsenal Street. She also spearheaded the movement for a temporary moratorium on big developments to allow the Town time to thoughtfully plan new rules for such developments. That’s why we have Design Guidelines and Standards today. She gets things done by listening, communicating and working with people.
Regardless of how many things are posted on the Town website or how many emails go out, getting things done still takes affirmatively reaching out to talk with people. Lisa knows that’s far more effective, and what a public official needs to do, rather trying to act alone or only with the powerful. That’s the greatest strength she’ll bring to the job of District Councilor and something we really need. In our form of town government, the Manager is stronger than the elected council, which acts more through the power to influence than through Council votes. Probably 90% of the work of a Town Councilor is or ought to be outside of the formal Council meetings; I believe Lisa will be very effective at that work because of her interpersonal skills and views about how government ought to be run. Lisa will work to build a forward-thinking, progressive consensus on the Council. Because of Lisa’s creative leadership and community building at a crucial time for our neighborhoods, she has earned my strong loyalty to her candidacy.”

“District 5 needs new representation on the Town Council, the only town government body who are directly responsible to us, the voters.
With the face of Watertown changing at breakneck speed and our quality of life, neighborhoods and property at stake, we need a Town Councilor who will interact and respond to constituents. Lisa Feltner has worked tirelessly for Watertown as a private citizen and as head of the Concerned Citizens Group. She provided invaluable help to North Beacon Neighbors for our negotiations with Athena Health’s proposed garage and other changes to the Arsenal on the Charles over the past year. She also led the drive for a moratorium petition on development that resulted in fast-tracking the Design Guidelines. Make no mistake, without that petition, we would not have these. She is a font of knowledge on smart development and transportation best practices around the country, as well as in our own backyard. Somerville, for instance, has been doing innovative work in planning for the future; Lisa arranged a screening for the CCG group of a film about their town planning practices, so people could see how towns with vision can get ahead of the demands of development.
We feel our current Town Council representative’s inability to communicate to or respond to her constituents is a big problem and one that will not serve us well in time of great change. Lisa has proven that she is a good communicator and responds to issues in town with intelligence and effectiveness. This is an important local election. Vote for Lisa Feltner on November 3 and give District 5 the representative we need.

“Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We will proudly be casting our votes for Lisa Feltner.
Lisa has been an active member of the Watertown community for many years. She has served as President of Watertown Concerned Citizens Group since 2009. In this role she brought community members, town officials, and business owners together to create better outcomes for development in Watertown. Her work at CCG led to the creation of new Design Guidelines and Standards.
The most important job a District Councilor has is to listen and respond to the concerns constituents have. Whether it’s fighting for development that fits our community, supporting the needs of our schools, or working hard to protect our environment, we know Lisa will be a tireless advocate for the people in every neighborhood of her district.
This election is going to be very close — so every vote counts! We hope that you will join us in voting for Lisa.
Thank you for your consideration.”

“We have known Lisa Feltner for almost 25 years, and without a doubt she is the best and most qualified candidate for District B Town Councilor. She has been a member of the District B community for over 20 years, and as president of the Concerned Citizens Group, has already had to present and represent the interests of a large constituency.
Lisa has a sincerity, intellect, integrity and accessibility, desperately needed. She listens to all those she represents – she will listen to all sides. She presents her well-researched arguments in a concise and coherent manner, and she consistently communicates her decisions and the results.
Isn’t this what we want in a Town Counselor?
Her resume of professional and private skills include a high level knowledge of development, transportation management, education, budgets, communication, teamwork, fundraising, storm water management, and more.
Please consider giving your vote to Lisa. Watertown needs a council that will demand a comprehensive approach, more intelligent development in our town, and protection for precious resources and vulnerable citizens.”

“I am writing in support of Lisa Feltner’s campaign for District B Town Councilor. Lisa has my vote on November 3rd along with my heartfelt endorsement for her candidacy. I first met Lisa 11 years ago when our kids, now high school sophomores, were in kindergarten at Hosmer School. We were both involved parents in the school, so I soon got to know Lisa well. Working together on countless projects in the schools, I can say that she was always a great listener and a terrific collaborator. Lisa knows how to get things done and she knows how to work collaboratively and effectively with others. During busy school events, Lisa always quickly recognized when to jump in and help out in order to be most effective. Lisa recognized gaps and opportunities and knew how to fill them. She knew how to honor existing traditions while building new ones that involved faculty, staff, and student families. Over the years, she had many great ideas and suggestions for PTO and general Hosmer school activities. She was instrumental in improving communication and helped fundraise through using community building events. She studies, learns, asks questions and educates herself thoroughly in order to determine the best way to approach a problem.
Lisa’s strong community spirit was apparent in all of the activities in the schools and is now even stronger in issues pertaining to the community at large. This last year, we have been in many meetings about community issues and new developments in Watertown. Just as she did in our early involvement in the schools, Lisa has become a strong, educated, invaluable advocate and resource, working hard for Watertown. ”

“Lisa Feltner for District B Councilor on November 3:
Lisa Feltner is our clear choice for District B Town Councilor. She is personable, approachable and has energized our district to address growing concerns. Watertown is undergoing unprecedented change and our district needs proactive leaders to embrace new ideas, enact best practices, and engage all residents.
Lisa has demonstrated these qualities, through her volunteer work with the schools, the community, the workplace at MIT, and through her many years as President of Concerned Citizens Group neighborhood association. Lisa is passionate not only about keeping residents informed but works to advocate for wise legislation and thoughtful planning from Town officials. She has been innovative in her communications, community meetings, and approach to finding and bringing together the right people to help ask the right questions, in order to make sensible recommendations.
